La Puente Living
 La Puente Park is the primary recreational facility found in the community of La Puente. The park is bordered by Glendora and Temple Avenues and Hacienda Boulevard and is frequented by both residents and visitors alike. A variety of recreational activities may be sought out within the park grounds. Facilities include two lighted baseball fields, picnic areas complete with a covered patio area, tables, benches and barbecue grills, lighted tennis courts, lighted basketball courts, and four handball courts. Organized soccer games and other sporting activities are conducted, particularly on weekends, on the multi-use turf area.
Outdoor enthusiasts do not pass up the opportunity to visit the Schabarum Regional Park. This wilderness park spans over 600 acres and is comprised of open space with natural areas containing views of picturesque canyons. Series of rolling hills provide excellent opportunities for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The park is decorated with coastal sage scrub vegetation as well as other plant life and wildlife. Facilities include an eighteen-station fitness trail, an equestrian center, picnic areas, soccer fields, and playgrounds. Group picnic areas are available for rent and hold accommodations for up to 200 people. The Los Angeles region is a terrific place to live, work and raise a family. From the mountains to the beaches, Southern California is home to Disneyland, Hollywood, the Lakers and the Dodgers. Auto racing, horseracing, polo and college football are nearby. Residents can surf, snow ski and blaze a trail through the desert all in the same day, thanks to the area’s unique geography, which ranges from 10,080-foot Mt. San Antonio to 81 miles of picturesque coastline. Creative expression is this region’s most prolific natural resource and it shows in the variety of fun activities. From the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena to the Hollywood Christmas Parade and Kwanzaa Heritage Festival and Parade — there are a host of activities year-round. The vibrant ethnic mix of Los Angeles adds to the fun. It’s been called the entertainment capital of the world for good reason.
